“Roberta - I'm on the Cascadia Poetics LAB board and I just wanted to tell you that EVERY time I pop open the new website, I go all shivery and smiley with delight.  What a job you've done. When I found out we were going to do this, I tried to imagine tackling the design problem and I couldn't. My brain froze. Have to admit I have a SUPER bias for color and more color - used effectively - but I do appreciate good organization -  Wow.  Thank you so much for the array of skills and talents you bring to this work - and for the hours and hours you've spent getting it right.

 Sincerely starry-eyed“

“A friend who lives in Vienna Austria has been checking out the website…she and her husband and I had a 3-way conference call this morning regarding the artwork.  Loved, loved, loved the website and said it was easy to navigate.  Having two small pieces sent over and they are interested in Renaissance Man and probably commissioning a second!”

“It gives me great pleasure to recommend Roberta Hoffman as an outstanding graphic designer. Roberta worked closely with me in designing and developing visual communication products for our successful “Uniting Diverse Artists Art Auction” at the end of last year. I believe I am in a prime position to comment on her qualifications and her work in my capacity as the lead person of this event. Roberta listened attentively and asked questions regarding our intended audience and the overall mission of the event. She quickly sketched a variation of logo designs and was most helpful in guiding us through the design selection process. Once we decided on a design, she proceeded to develop our website, catalogue and announcement cards within budget and timeline. The latter being a particularly important achievement in that we did not provide her all the information she needed within a timely fashion. Her website design was praised by many as both a visually pleasing design and for its ease in navigation. We raised more from this event than we had ever imagined, and I give a large part of its success to Roberta’s contributions. She is a highly committed, hard-working, conscientious individual who rose to all the challenges with a level of professionalism and thoroughness that assured the resulting success. I therefore have no reservations in highly recommending Roberta Hoffman.”

—Tendai Johnson, Professional Artist, Co-Curator of Uniting Diverse Artists 2014 Event and Art Professor, May 2015

“I've been working with Roberta since 2012 and her work has allowed me to take my latest documentary, "The Trouble with TQ," to the next level. I initially hired her to design the logo for my company, Prodigal Altar Boy Films, and that branched out into business card and letterhead design, all the way to designing the next poster for the film. Her graphic artwork in displaying archival documents in the film is an integral part of the film's visual style and a foundational storytelling tool of the work. “

Roberta's creative process draws the client into exploring "outside the box" design elements that resonate with the underlying story. A recurring comment at a recent screening was how her work on the archival documents highlighted the thematic thrust of the documents while preserving their authenticity.

I am currently working with Roberta on designing the DVD covers for the film.”

—Calvin Thomas, Producer/Promoter at Prodigal Altar Boy Films, August 2013

"Roberta, your artwork really made a difference for our annual Home and Garden Tour.  The posters that you designed with our input were very imaginative and spot-on.  We have never had so many compliments on our materials.  And we had not previously considered that we could use our posters to generate sales of their own, but so many people have asked to buy copies!  Let me add that your patience and professionalism were key to making the design process work with our disparate committee.  I certainly hope to work with you again."

—Carl Young, Board Member of the Historic Mount Royal Terrace Association, December 2014

"I just wanted to say that the invitation looks amazing! I absolutely love the design. Thank you for your time and talent on this."

—Suzanne Bell Penny, Principal, Midtown Academy, Baltimore, Maryland, October 2014

“Roberta has spectacular talent for absorbing the client's aspirations and concerns, fusing those into graphical and user interface elements that literally "sing to the client's heart." Response to her work led to the highest customer satisfaction, the most project extensions and upgrades, and the most enduring delivery of tangible value that I have experienced, ever. While it takes a team to open the door for THAT kind of project outcome, it takes genius and artistry from Roberta's chair at the table to "unleash the magic." And she does. Repeated. Reliable. On the best days and the worst days. And her output only gets better and better.”

-John Odden, Hospital, Life Sciences, Health Plan Health IT Innovator (manager at First Consulting Group). September 2013.

"Roberta was the team lead on my first project at C-bridge, and on several others during my time there. I immediately found her to be a creative, resourceful, adaptable, and energetic leader. She coached me in effective methods of rapid prototyping, graphic design and user centered design techniques. She has the ability to quickly grasp the unique needs of the client organization and turn this intelligence into concise design approaches, without wasting any effort or time. She effectively managed client relationships and her team simultaneously, combining a seriousness about the work with a great sense of fun and enjoyment in collaboration. Anyone who entrusts Roberta with their projects is in very good hands. I was grateful to be exposed to her example early in my career, and many years later I count her among my mentors."
