Winter in America (Again
Design Brief: Winter in America (Again : Poets Respond to 2024 Election
Objective: Design a compelling and visually impactful book cover that reflects the themes and mood of the anthology Winter in America (Again): Poets Respond to the 2024 Election. The cover design should convey a sense of reflection, introspection, and depth, while complementing the abstract and mystical artwork titled Goetia Study by artist Jasper Hoffman.
For this project, I chose to incorporate a mix of eroded typography alongside sharp, condensed sans-serif fonts to create a striking contrast. This design approach aims to evoke a mood of tension and solemnity, aligning with the book’s exploration of contemporary themes.
In addition to the book cover, I also developed complementary designs, including web banners, event posters, bookmarks, and social media tiles to maintain consistency across promotional materials.
